Children and Teens

Bowenwork® is a safe and comfortable modality that gently helps babies, children, and teens with a wide range of issues. The gentle and precise system of touches called ‘Bowen moves’ are performed over clothing and the parent stays with their child during the session. Bowenwork® resets the messages in the brain, turning them into powerful healing messages and creating a positive change that lasts.

Bowenwork® is truly holistic and moves to balance the entire human body…no matter how old it is. All those issues that go along with growing pains, such as skeletal and muscular development can be helped, learning and concentration issues, as well as digestive, breathing and tummy issues.

Bowen works to balance the chemistry in the brain, release tension and stress, calm the body, and oxygenate the brain. The result can lead to less anxiety, less frustration, fewer tears, increased comprehension, retention, and esteem, and more treasured moments of peace in your home.

Bowenwork® stimulates the Nervous System and all aspects of children’s health are positively affected.

How Bowenwork® Helps

Bowenwork® is a system of touch that initiates a series of responses through stimulation of the nervous, musculoskeletal, fascial and energetic systems of the human body. Practitioners perform sequences of small stimulations, called “moves”, on specific points on the body, interspersed with rest periods.

The Bowenwork® moves stimulate mechanoreceptors (nerve endings) that overlie both muscles and acupoints. The body’s response to this stimulation, which begins during the rest periods, includes a balancing of the autonomic nervous system and changes in the musculoskeletal system in the direction of increased symmetry. These effects, in turn, remove blockages to the free flow of energy in the body.

From the point of view of complementary health care, when the body’s nervous and energetic systems are in balance, its physical, emotional and mental functions are able to return to a healthy state.
